Tallymile privacy policy
Last updated:
Your trips stay on your iPhone. Tallymile has no accounts, no servers of its own, no analytics and no ads, and Pocobit never sees your data.
What Tallymile uses and why
- Location. Tallymile uses your location to measure the miles of each trip and to draw its route. With “Always” access it logs trips on its own, even when the app is closed. GPS only turns on while you drive.
- Motion and fitness. The motion sensor tells Tallymile when you start driving. This is processed on your iPhone.
- Place names. To show names like “Ferry Building” instead of coordinates, Tallymile asks Apple Maps for the name of the start and end of each trip. Apple handles these requests under the Apple Privacy Policy.
- Notifications. Tallymile sends local notifications from your iPhone when a trip ends, so you can classify it. No notification server is involved.
- Files you import. Mileage files you import (CSV or .xlsx) are read on your iPhone and are not uploaded anywhere.
- IRS mileage rates. Tallymile downloads the public table of standard mileage rates from irs.gov. No information about you is sent.
- CarPlay and Bluetooth. If you set up the optional automation, the Shortcuts app on your iPhone notices when your car connects and asks Tallymile to start a trip. Tallymile doesn’t read your Bluetooth devices, and nothing leaves your iPhone.
- Reports you share. PDF and CSV reports are created on your iPhone. They only leave it when you share or save them, with the people or places you choose.
Where your data is stored
Your trips, rules and settings are stored on your iPhone. If iCloud is on for Tallymile, they are also stored in your private iCloud account so you can use them on your other devices. That data is protected by Apple and Pocobit cannot access it.
What we don’t do
- We don’t collect, sell or share your data. Pocobit receives none of it, unless you write to us.
- We don’t track you across apps or websites, and Tallymile contains no advertising or analytics code.
- Tallymile doesn’t require an account.
If you contact us
When you email tallymile@pocobit.app or privacy@pocobit.app, we receive your email address and what you write. We use it only to answer you, keep it only as long as needed to help you, and delete it whenever you ask.
How long data is kept and how to delete it
Your data is kept until you delete it. You can delete any trip in the app, and deleting Tallymile removes everything stored on your iPhone. Data in your iCloud can be removed in Settings, then your name, then iCloud. You can turn off location, motion or notification access at any time in the Settings app.
Children
Tallymile is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly handle children’s data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
Who is responsible
Tallymile is developed and sold by Gabriel Alvarez (Pocobit), Caracas, Venezuela, who is responsible for this policy. To ask about your data, or to have anything you sent us corrected or deleted, write to privacy@pocobit.app.
